I started doing hot yoga in January this year. Hot yoga is yoga done in a studio that is heated to about 110 degrees and is uber humid. (I don't know the technical way to explain humidity, but uber is about how it feels!) As soon as I tried it, I loved it. An hour and a half of posing in positions that my body never thought it would attempt, and finding myself soaked with sweat about 15 minutes in... where is the love in that? Strangely, after my first class I felt as though I had just had a warm bath and a massage. I was both tired and energized. And, I was proud of myself for accomplishing what I thought I wouldn't be able to. I've talked friends and family into trying it too, and most of them have continued with me and on their own.
Each year (maybe twice) they have a 30 day challenge...30 yoga classes in 30 days. I had heard of it when I first started and thought, 'those people must be crazy!' Well, who's the crazy now? October is the "challenge" month. So, while I'm starting this journal about 1/3 through the challenge, I'll recap the whole thing.
Since I'm new to blogging, I'm not sure if I'll be snubbing blog etiquette by doing 3 blogs in one day, but I just want to get "caught up" and move on from here. So, my next blog will be the first in my "yoga challenge" journal.
